Programs Offered

Stonemoor Day Care is a non-profit organization licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. We have a purchase of Service Agreement with Durham Social Services for subsidized day care. We operate year round and close only for statutory holidays. We are open from 6:30a.m. until 6:00 p.m. ( hours vary for school age programs ). Our goal is to help each child develop to his / her fullest potential in a positive, caring environment. We are associated with Resources for Exceptional Children, Grandview Preschool Outreach Program and Durham Behaviour Management Services.

Our class sizes are for ten or fifteen children. Our staff are qualified with an E.C.E. diploma and the assistants have either E.C.E. courses or workshops behind them. The toddlers have their own playground with C.S.A. approved equipment. The staff program age appropriate activities for children from fifteen months to two and a half years. We are associated with outside agencies and when required the staff work with these agencies and develop an individualized program as required. We believe in quality care with a home away from home atmosphere.

Our class sizes range from groupings of eight to twenty four children depending on the size of the classroom. Our staff are qualified with an E.C.E. diploma and the assistants have either E.C.E. courses or workshops behind them. The children's playgrounds have been replaced to meet the new C.S.A. requirements. The staff program age appropriate activities for the children and work along with outside agencies to develop an individual program plan when required to meet the needs of the child. If required we are able to hire additional staff to help with the integration of a child who may require extra assistance to take part in the whole program.

We offer a before and after school program for children who attend local schools in Uxbridge, Port Perry and Sandford. The programs run from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. A full day program for school holidays is currently offered at the Uxbridge and Port Perry locations. The staff have E.C.E. qualifications or other related training .We offer an integrated program to meet the needs of all children.

Uxbridge:
We offer supervised walking to and from Uxbridge Public School, Joseph Gould Public School, and Quaker Village Public School. For children attending Quaker Village Public School will now have a program offered at the Uxbridge Arena. For children attending Uxbridge Public School and Joseph Gould Public School, the program is offered at St. Paul's Anglican Church. Sandford:
Operates from Sept. to June. For school holidays the children will access the program in Uxbridge. For more information regarding this program please call Robin at 905-852-5380. We offer supervised walking to and from Scott Central Public School. This program is licensed for thirty children.

Port Perry:
We offer supervised walking to and from the following schools:
R.H. Cornish and Immaculate Conception.
The program at 14460 Simcoe St. is licensed for thirty children. For more information call Pepper W. at 905-985-8421.
For the program at 399 Queen St. call Karen at 905-985-0800. This program is offered in the main child care centre and is licensed for eleven children.
