Information for Artists

Welcome to Art in the Park 2008.  This Festival of artists and artisans has been running in Uxbridge for the past thirteen years.

Uxbridge is located in Durham Region just 45 minutes north east of Toronto and Elgin Park is situated in the south central part of town.

The Artists sites are nestled throughout the century old maple trees of Elgin Park.  This is a Juried Show. All Artists/Artisans must submit photos / slides of each media to be exhibited and sold.  Photos / slides will not be returned.   Your cheque must accompany registration form with your photos / slides, but will be returned if you do not qualify.

Acceptable Mediums

Oils, acrylics, watercolors, sculpture (clay, wood , metal), paper maché, carving (stone, wood etc.), printmaking, drawing (pen, pencil, etc.), folk art, fiber art, glass, ceramics, pottery, jewelry and others.   All items must be the artists own work.  No agents or dealers will be accepted.  We reserve the right to limit the number of artists / artisans in each media.

Silent Auction

The Uxbridge Lions are running a silent auction to raise funds for Dog Guides.  This program provides guide dogs for the sight, hearing, and physically impaired.   The program is run by The Lions Foundation of Canada with private funding only (no governmental funding).  Last year, through the kind donations from our artist / artisans we raised $1,778.50 for Dog Guides.   We are asking artists / artisans for their support of this worthwhile cause by donating a piece of their work for the auction.   Please indicate on the registration form if you are able to donate. Thank you.

Appreciation BBQ

Again this year we will be holding an appreciation BBQ for the artists at 6 pm on Saturday evening.  This is our way of thanking you for all your support.   Please indicate on the registration form if you and your assistants will attend.
