Celebrating 10 Years Sharing Karate
in the Uxbridge and Surrounding Area

B.N.N.K. or Bushi No Nasake Kai Uxbridge Karate is celebrating 10 years of sharing their knowledge of Karate Do with local students.   We started the year training and grading 6 new black belts, 4 new 2nd degree black belts, and a 4th degree black belt with Kancho T Okuyama , (Kancho - director of the International Karate Association Canada).  In June we had our annual Picnic at Trout Water Park.  Fishing derby water gun wars, unbelievable pot luck lunch and just relaxing.  Next will be the home coming and then Christmas and New Year, with the Cannington Dojo Celebrating 14 years as of January 16 2007.

Come next spring we will have 3 generations of black belts in our family and dojo:  Grandma Marg, Mother Rhonda, 11 year old Shannan, and not too far behind number 2 daughter Lauren.

Karate Do means the way of karate, an art form of a martial art known as shotokan karate.

We just opened the Claremont Dojo at the United Church to a full house. Its looking good for B.N.N.K. Kararte Do and Claremont Karate.

Shihan Larry would like to invite all past, present and future students to come back for an evening of training and laughs at any of the five mentioned Dojos. Call for time and dates. I would love to catch up with some of my first students that I know that are still around.

B.N.N.K. Karate Do is a certified International Karate Association Dojo member of Karate Ontario, and the National Karate Association - the governing body of karate in Ontario and Canada.  Larry Prohaska holds a 6th degree black belt and is training towards his 7th.  Marg Prohaska a 5th degree is his wife of 37 plus years and training partner really enjoy giving their love of karate to young and older students.  Larry is still a student of Kancho (director of style) T Okyuama and Grand Master Soke Kubota of Glendale California.

To learn the techniques of karate that could hurt another human being without also applying both spiritual and physical discipline, is just learning violence. A proper dojo must always demonstrate the principles of respect, courtesy and rank.

Karate uses natural human movement and emotion; developing it to be able to defend oneself. Every student should be able to connect karate training to his or her every day life and use it positively to succeed in achieving goals.
