The York-Durham Railway’s volunteers have checked the track, cleaned the cars and engines readying the line for the 2010 season of family tourist trains.
On Sunday June 6th, the GTA’s only tourist
railway officially opens the 2010 season with regular
round trips between
Uxbridge and Stouffville until October 31st. Trains operate
a scheduled service on Sundays only until Late September
and on Saturdays and Sundays through to Halloween. Summer
Saturdays are reserved for special runs and activities – watch
for separate announcements.
Round trips leave the restored Uxbridge station, departing
at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm and from Stouffville GO station
at 12:00 noon . Return fares for 2010 are $23.00 for
Adults and $15.00 for Children (2-12 yrs) with a $21.00
fare for Seniors (65+) and Students (13-17 yrs). Children
under 2 (not occupying a seat) travel free. A family
pass for up to two adults and three children is available
for $68.00. Group discounts and one-way fares are also
available.
Repeating a past success, horse drawn wagon rides meet
the lunchtime train at Uxbridge station to take passengers
on a tour of downtown
Uxbridge, organized by the Town of Uxbridge. There is
no additional charge for these rides.
The train is available for birthday groups, company/church
picnics, school field trips and many more community or
family events – contact
us for charter and group rates.
The York-Durham Heritage railway accepts Visa, MasterCard,
Interac and cash for ticket sales.
