Eco-Friendly Garden Tour on July 12th, 2008

Visit 8 great gardens in the Uxbridge area and chat with the gardeners. Learn ways to be eco-friendly, go grass-free and see several good examples of eco-friendly front yards, one with brightly coloured perennials, planters and a obelisk. Follow a winding path and enjoy open spaces where birds, butterflies and people all enjoy the same space. Share the enthusiasm of these gardeners on this self-guided tour. Tickets are $20.00 and include a box lunch, gift bag, and valuable coupons to John’s Garden, Garden Artifacts, San Marco Roasters, Blue Heron Books and Presents, Presents, Presents.

All proceeds benefit Community Care Durham – Uxbridge. Community Care Durham is a multi-service registered charitable organization. Through the support they receive from their volunteers they provide home support, COPE Mental Health and Respite services to adults who have needs related to physical disability, aging and/or mental health. The connection to gardening is one they especially enjoy, as volunteering is the gift that grows.

UXBRIDGE RIBFEST 2008

Come and enjoy our Ribfest in Uxbridge and have some food, fun, kid’s entertainment area, great music, crafts and most importantly – fantastic award winning ribs from some of the best “RIBBERS” in Canada.

Bring your children, your brothers and sisters, and don’t forget to bring your appetite!

We will be featuring crafters, artists and artisans, there will be a great children’s area with midway rides, face painters, story tellers and clowns.

Please do not bring your pets, please leave them at home.

"Uxbridge Has Musical Talent!" Contest
Show us your talent on Sunday July 20th from 2pm - 4pm at the Rotary Bandshell in Elgin Park during the Uxbridge Ribfest. Deadline for entries - June 29th.

Free Admission and Free Parking and just a donation box.

Come early as the Uxbridge Lions Club will serve a pancake breakfast from 8am to 11am both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
